Policy
PPC Canada maintains the principles of integrity and trust with respect to the privacy of personal information. As part of this commitment, PPC Canada will protect the privacy of personal information for clients. PPC Canada abides by applicable privacy laws, and, in particular, the Personal Information Protection Act of British Columbia.

Definitions
"Contact information" is information that enables an individual to be contacted at a place of business, including their name, position, business telephone number, business address, business e-mail or business fax number.

"Personal information" is information about an identifiable individual, but does not include contact information.

Purposes
PPC Canada informs clients about the purposes for which personal information is collected, used and disclosed. The purposes are as follows:
  • To verify your identification and company
  • To understand your needs, preferences and your satisfaction with PPC Canada's services
  • To confirm your eligibility for services
  • To protect both you, and us, from error and fraud
  • To comply with legal and accreditation requirements
Security
PPC Canada maintains reasonably available safeguards that comply in all material respects with industry standards to guard personal information against loss, destruction or modification.

Accuracy of Information
PPC Canada makes all efforts to ensure that personal information collected, used and disclosed for its intended use is accurate and as complete as possible.

Access
Upon reasonable notice, PPC Canada will allow clients to access and review the personal information on the file. In some situations, PPC Canada may not be able to provide access to certain personal information. This may be the case where, for example, disclosure would reveal personal information about another individual, the personal information is protected by solicitor/client privilege or PPC Canada is prevented by law from providing access to certain personal information. Should the client believe that any personal information is incomplete or incorrect, they may advise PPC Canada to update the information. If the information is subject to interpretation or is an opinion, PPC Canada may not change the record, but may annotate the record to indicate the client's view.

Training
PPC Canada will train employees and affiliates with respect to their obligation regarding the Privacy Policy.

Retention
PPC Canada has a policy with respect to retention of personal information that is consistent with its other statutory and legal requirements, and will retain personal information only as long as is reasonably necessary within those requirements.

Enforcement
The Privacy Officer will promptly and independently review and investigate every allegation that the Privacy Policy has been violated, by reviewing any practices and procedures which have occurred, and determine whether any appropriate disciplinary measures should be taken.

Inquiries/Complaints
